春天正是讀書天—與spring相關的俚語
今年的春雨不如預期下得多，各地水情仍舊吃緊，所以大家還是得節約用水。講到春雨（spring rain/ spring showers），顧名思義指的是春天下的雨，通常是下在2月到4月之間，春雨能為大地帶來無限生機，英文裡也有許多和春天相關的俚語，讓Funday帶你一起來認識吧！
*to spring into action
這裡的spring是當動詞用，有跳躍的意思。想像一條被壓縮的彈簧突然被釋放，那種突如其來的動能，這個俚語就是形容某人原本很平靜，突然變得很活躍，或突然很有活力並開始快速地做事情。
→ When the guard heard the fire alarm, he sprang into action and evacuated the building.
當警衛聽到火警時，他立刻採取行動，疏散了大樓裡的人。
*no spring chicken
當我們說某人是spring chicken時，意指這個人如同春天一樣，年輕、朝氣蓬勃又充滿活力；相反地，要強調某人不再年輕，或在職場上已非菜鳥，就可以用no spring chicken來表示，而另一種情況下，也意味著雖然某人年紀大了，但仍然非常有能力。
→ My father is no spring chicken anymore, but he still likes to stay active and try new things.
我爸爸已不再年輕，但他仍喜歡保持活力，嘗試新事物。
*a spring in one’s step
這裡的spring指的是「彈簧」，這個俚語用來形容一個人走起路來精力充沛，就像腳下裝了彈簧一樣，通常顯示這個人心情十分愉快。
→ I could tell my sister did well in her job interview today because she came home with a spring in her step.
我看得出來我姊姊在今天的求職面試表現不錯，因為她回到家心情愉快，腳步輕鬆。
*spring fever
spring fever指的是春暖花開時，人們出現情緒或行為的變化，通常是一種躁動或興奮不已的感覺。
→ The warm weather has everyone feeling a bit restless and distracted. It’s like we all have spring fever.
暖和的天氣讓每個人都感到有些坐不住和分心，就像我們都得了春季煩躁症一樣。
*spring is in the air
如同字面上的意思：空氣中有著春天的氣息，這句話是指「春意盎然」的意思，其中spring可以替換成love或change，意指「萌生愛意」或「變革在即」的意思。
→ I can smell the fragrant flowers blooming all around me as spring is in the air.
我聞到四周盛開的芬芳花朵，因為春天來臨了。
