大家想表達「很棒！」、「非常好！」的感覺，是否總是使用「Great」、「excellent」、「Fantastic」這些字詞呢？

今天整理的字詞片語，便是想補充大家的字彙庫，幫助大家在使用上更有選擇性！！

 

 ✓ 英式英文會大量使用「lovely」來表示好的事物或經驗；

    ➤ That’s a lovely dress you’re wearing. (妳穿的那件洋裝真好看。)

    ➤ It was so lovely to see you again! (再見到你真開心！)

 

 ✓ 想讚美某件事或物，通常表示該事物美好到你無法置信的地步，可使用「incredible」或「amazing」；

    ➤ It was an amazing performance. I’ve never seen anything like it. (這是一場極棒的演出，我從未看過像這樣的表演。)  

    ➤ He was an incredible artist – almost certainly a genius. (他是一位不可思議的藝術家，幾乎能肯定是個天才。)

 

 ✓ 「wonderful」、「marvelous」、「fabulous」等形容詞都是一般表示extremely good之意；

    ➤ He’s a wonderful cook. (他是個非常棒的廚師。)

    ➤ It’s a marvelous story. (這是個極棒的故事。)

    ➤ The food was fabulous. (食物好吃極了。)

 

 ✓ 「Excellent」是用來表示某事物的品質極佳；

    ➤ The service was excellent. (服務品質非常棒。)

 

 ✓ 「superb」則是表示某事物具有最高品質；

    ➤ He’s a superb dancer. (他是一位傑出的舞蹈家。)

 

 ✓ 「fantastic」、「brilliant」、「cool」、「awesome」也是很常用來表示「很棒」的形容詞；

    ➤ We were lucky – the weather was brilliant. (我們真幸運，天氣很棒呢。)

    ➤ It’s a really cool place to hang out. (這是個外出逛逛的一個很棒的地方)

    ➤ She has an awesome voice. (她有美妙的嗓音。)

 

 ✓ 若想描述某事物好得非常特別，可使用「exceptional 」(卓越的、不同凡響的)；

    ➤ The care I received from the hospital staff was exceptional. (我從醫護人員身上得到極佳的照顧。)

 

 ✓ 「outstanding」則用於描述與同類事物相比之下是「傑出的」；

    ➤ All in all, it was an outstanding performance by Messi. (從各方面來說，這都是梅西的一項傑出的表現。)

 

 ✓ 「remarkable」、「extraordinary」是描述某事物因具有獨特的品質而優異；

    ➤ Even as a young girl, she had a remarkable singing voice. (即使她是位年輕女孩，她仍擁有非凡的嗓音。)

    ➤ The rain forest is home to many extraordinary creatures. (這座雨林是許多奇異生物的發源地。)

 

 ✓ 片語「out of this world」也用來表示很棒的事物；

    ➤ The food there is out of this world. (那裡的食物棒極了。)

 

 ✓ 若想表達某件事物已經非常好，沒什麼能再改進的地方時，可以說「takes some beating」 (難以超越)

    ➤ His new world record will take some beating. (他新創下的世界紀錄將很難打破。)

 

 ✓ 「leaves sb. standing」 (令某人望塵莫及、遠遠勝過某人)則用來描述比相同類型的事物好上許多；

    ➤ Her voice is excellent – it leaves the others standing. (她的嗓音極好，令其他人望塵莫及。)
