剛到外商公司上班的Nancy寫了一封報價的e-mail給客戶，她在信中寫道「Please find attached the quote for your requested equipment.」（您所詢問的設備報價單，請看附件），結果這一句話被公司前輩指出太過正式，應該改為比較平易近人的句子。主管的建議讓Nancy感到很納悶，她曾在商務書信的參考書上看過「Please find attached…」的用法，為什麼這樣的寫法會被認為是不恰當的呢？
首先，Please find attached…（請看附件）的寫法在現代英文中被認為是比較過時的，現在的商業書信偏重以精簡、直接的方式溝通，Please find attached…的用法被認為有點冗長（wordy），因為寫出這麼一句話其實只是要提醒對方，這封e-mail有附件而已，實際上用attached就能夠清楚表意，不需要再寫please find…。
此外，Please find attached…的寫法是一個祈使句（imperative），這個句子說到底的功能只是傳達「I have attached a document for you.」而已，並不是一個真正的請求（request），加了Please find…，多了「請查收…」的意思，反而顯得累贅（redundant）。
