Kevin: Hey Jenny, have you ever played with traditional Taiwanese children’s toys before?
凱文：嘿，珍妮，你以前有沒有玩過傳統的臺灣童玩？
Jenny: Yeah, I used to play with a lot of them when I was younger. I remember playing with spinning tops, Chinese shuttlecocks, and poking lottery.
珍妮：有啊，我小時候常常玩。我記得玩過打陀螺、踢毽子和抽抽樂。
Kevin: A spinning top? What is it?
凱文：陀螺？那是什麼？
Jenny: It’s a wooden or plastic toy that you spin on the ground using a string. You have to wind up the string around the top and then pull it quickly to make the top spin. It’s a lot of fun to see how long you can keep it spinning for.
珍妮：它是木製或塑膠製的玩具，用繩子讓它在地上旋轉。你要把繩子繞在陀螺上，然後迅速拉起來讓陀螺旋轉，看看你能讓它轉多久，很有趣的。
Kevin: That sounds really cool. What about Chinese shuttlecocks? I’ve heard of those before but I’m not sure what they are.
凱文：聽起來很酷，那毽子呢？我有聽過，但不確定那是什麼。
Jenny: A Chinese shuttlecock is like a combination between badminton and soccer. It’s made of feathers and a rubber base, and you kick it back and forth with your feet. It takes a lot of skill to keep it in the air and do tricks with them.
珍妮：毽子像是結合了羽毛球和足球。它是用羽毛和橡膠底部做成的，用腳來來回回去踢它，需要很多技巧才能讓它停在空中並做出許多花樣。
Kevin: Wow. That sounds challenging. And what’s poking lottery?
凱文：哇，聽起來很有挑戰性呢！那麼戳戳樂呢？
Jenny: Poking lottery is a game where you use a long bamboo stick to poke through a small hole that is numbered on a box. Each number represents a small prize, like candy or a toy. It’s also a lot of fun to see which prize you can get.
珍妮：戳戳樂是用一根長竹籤去戳破盒子上有編號的小洞，每個數字代表一個小獎品，像是糖果或玩具，看看你能拿到什麼獎品也是很好玩的。
Kevin: I’ve never heard of that one before. I’ll got to try it sometime.
凱文：我從沒聽過耶，我一定要去試試看。
Jenny: Definitely! There are so many different traditional Taiwanese children’s toys out there, and they’re all really unique and fun to play with.
珍妮：一定要的！有很多不同種類的傳統臺灣童玩，都很特別也很好玩。
