Internationally acclaimed novelist Haruki Murakami’s “1Q84” was voted “the book that best represents the Heisei Era (1989-present),” according to a poll conducted by the Asahi Shimbun newspaper.

In an interview with the newspaper, Murakami talks about the Heisei Era, as well as his journey as a writer and the books he’s written.
