Kazuo Ishiguro, the British novelist who wrote “The Remains of the Day”, has won the 2017 Nobel Prize in literature.

Ishiguro was born in Nagasaki, Japan in 1954; his family moved to England when he was five.

He graduated from the University of Kent with a bachelor’s degree in English and Philosophy and gained his Master’s from the University of East Anglia’s creative writing course.
