The Tainan Confucius Temple is one of the most popular national historic sites in Taiwan, known for its history and the plaques that have been there since the Qing dynasty.

A team of scholars has discovered an interesting fact on a historic plaque in the Confucius Temple in Tainan. The plaque has two different carvings, one hidden beneath another.
研究團隊在台南孔廟的匾額上找到一個有趣的發現，這塊匾額有兩組不同的刻文，其中一組刻文藏在另一組刻文底下。

The secret was revealed using a special x-ray scanning technique, where experts scanned the whole plaque 86 times, then put together all of the x-ray images to come up with the result.
研究團隊利用一種特殊的X光掃描技術，將整個匾額利用X光攝影86次後，將所有的影像組合起來才發現隱藏在底下的刻文。

The hidden words carved on the plaque show that it was given to an official by the seventh emperor of the Qing dynasty.

It is possible that the official gave the plaque to the temple, where it was then remade with different words carved on top of the old ones.

This plaque, along with seven others, is now on display at an exhibit in the Koxinga Museum.
