激起歷史與當代火花
Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC) has commissioned French conceptual artist Daniel Buren to create an artwork for the Banqiao station of Taipei Metro’s circular line.
台北捷運已經委託法國觀念藝術家丹尼爾布罕（Daniel Buren）打造「環狀線板橋站」藝術車站。

This is going to be his second station-specific art installation, following the work he designed for the Tottenham Court Road station of the London Underground.

To soften its visual impact on the urban landscape, TRTC has decided to adopt a light and artistic design for Banqiao station, a transportation hub connecting the MRT to the local train and bus stations.
為了將都市地景在視覺上變得柔和，台北捷運決定讓板橋站這個連結火車與公車的交通樞紐，換上燈光及藝術設計。

Buren’s artwork will be featured on the buildings as well as on the MRT cars, conveying the image of a dragon traveling thousands of miles, like the fleeting clouds.
從站體建築到捷運車廂，都會披上丹尼爾布罕的作品，圖案意象為一條龍快如浮雲般旅行了幾千哩。

This time around, he will also adopt his signature 8.7cm-wide vertical stripes as his major creative element, as well as mirrors and colored glass, through which beams of natural light will display a certain kind of mirror effect.
就像以往的作品，這次，丹尼爾布罕一樣會用他的招牌元素：寬8.7公分的垂直條紋，做為他主要的創意，同樣還有鏡子和彩色玻璃。當光影透過之時，便會產生特定的鏡面效果。

Geometric shapes will be spread all over the walls, from the ceiling all the way down to the concourse. Lighting effects on the platform as well as on the twelve poles supporting the elevated station will also be a part of this project, contributing to a redefinition of the space.
幾何圖案會散佈在整面牆上，從天花板蔓延到大廳。月台上的燈光及用來支撐站體的12根柱子也是藝術的一部份，重新定義整個空間。

Since 1965, Buren has designed a number of site-specific installations in the United States, Belgium, France, and Germany. His works have prompted many to consider the integration of contemporary art and historic buildings such as the Louvre in France and the Temple of Heaven in China.
從1965年起，丹尼爾布罕已經設計好幾個定點裝置藝術，包含在美國、比利時、法國及德國。他的作品讓大家聯想到當代藝術結合歷史建築，像是法國羅浮宮與中國的天壇。

To promote the artwork at Banqiao station, Buren’s creative team will hold an art seminar entitled In Between Reflections on September 11. Buren himself will share the ideas behind his work with people in Taiwan.
為了宣傳板橋站的藝術作品，丹尼爾布罕的創意團隊將在9月11日舉辦藝術研討會 In Between Reflections，丹尼爾布罕本人將與台灣的大家分享作品中的想法。
