寫英文作文的時候，是不是常常覺得加了一堆who、which讓句子變得落落長，一點都不精簡？
今天的文法部落格來教你如何簡化形容詞子句！

方法：把做為主詞的關係代名詞和其後的be動詞省略。
例句：The naughty boy who is dancing on the table is my brother Bob.
( 在桌上跳舞的頑皮小男孩是我的弟弟Bob。 )

解釋：關係代名詞像是which、who這種，用來「代替」前面的主詞，所以在上面的句子中，the naughty boy就是who，who來代替the naughty boy，而who is dancing on the table就是在桌子上跳舞的那位，is my brother Bob.正是我弟弟Bob。
了解關係代名詞是who之後，把who和後面的be動詞is刪掉，
就簡化成：The naughty boy dancing on the table is my brother Bob.

例句：The house which is painted blue is my teacher’s house.
( 漆成藍色的房子是我老師的房子。 )
解釋：主詞是The house那一棟房子，which是關係代名詞來代替the house，加上be動詞is panted blue是被漆成藍色的，之後接上這個句子真正的動詞：is my teacher’s house.是我老師的房子。把關係代名詞which和後面的is刪掉，簡化後變成：The house painted blue is my teacher’s house.

The international conference which is now taking place in Hokkaido is being criticized by the media for being too extravagant.
( 目前在日本北海道所舉行的全球會議被媒體抨擊過於奢侈。 )
