Chinese President Xi Jinping had intended to invade Taiwan in the fall, but the plan was thwarted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, according to a document allegedly written by a whistleblower from Russia’s Federal Security Service.

The document in question is one of the seven letters received and published by Russian human rights activist Vladimir Osechkin, who operates the anti-corruption website Gulagu.net. He recently made headlines for criticizing Putin’s military campaign in Ukraine.
