Although 5G services became available to the Taiwanese public starting in mid-2020, by 2022 many people were still using 4G, and refused to switch.

Among those who switched to 5G, one-third thought that 4G was too slow for them, one-sixth decided to switch just because the prices for both were about the same, and yet another one-sixth had to switch when they changed data plans.

Among those who did not make the switch, three out of five thought that 4G was already good enough, and one out of six thought 5G was not yet a mature technology.

Of course, about one-tenth of 4G users had cell phones that did not support 5G, and they were not willing to buy new phones.
當然，當中不乏手機不支援5G，又不想購入新機的人，該族群大概佔十分之一。
