Marvin and Cindy are colleagues. Cindy is asking Marvin about her checking account’s available balance.

Cindy: I just looked at my checking account’s available balance today, and it doesn’t seem like the amount is right. It seems too low.

Marvin: Well, did you transfer any money or make any online purchases recently?
馬文：這個嘛，你最近有沒有轉帳或線上購物？

Cindy: Yeah, I did. But it doesn’t seem like the money was taken out of my account.

Marvin: Well, if you’re looking at your current balance, it won’t take into account any pending transactions that haven’t cleared yet.
馬文：如果你看的是帳戶餘額，那尚未扣款的交易是不會計算在內的。

Cindy: Oh, I guess that makes sense. It takes time for payments and transfers to clear, right?
辛蒂：哦，我想那就說得過去了。付款與轉帳都需要時間結算，對嗎？
Marvin: Right. Your available balance will reflect these right away. This is why it’s important to look at your account’s available balance.
馬文：對啊，這些交易會直接反映在你的可用餘額上。這是為什麼查看你的帳戶可用餘額很重要。

Cindy: I did notice that my current balance is higher than the available balance.

Marvin: Yeah. If you are waiting for payments to clear, the available balance might give you a better idea of your actual funds. If you just look at the current balance, you might accidentally overdraw your account if you aren’t careful.
馬文：的確。如果你在等款項結算，那可用餘額才能看到你實際的資金。若只看帳戶餘額，不多加留意的話可能就會不小心透支哦。
