台灣最高榮譽
Morris Chang was awarded one of Taiwan’s highest honors — the Order of Dr. Sun Yat-sen — by President Tsai Ing-wen on April 19.
4月19日，蔡英文總統頒發台灣最高榮譽──中山勳章──給張忠謀。

He received this medal for founding Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company as well as for “letting the world see Taiwan with technology, innovation and enthusiasm.”
他因創立台灣積體電路製造公司以及「讓世界看到台灣的科技、創新和熱情」而獲得此勳章。

While presenting the medal, Tsai thanked the 92-year-old Chang for helping to put Taiwan’s technology industry on the map through the efforts he has put into developing TSMC over the past 39 years.
在頒發獎章時，蔡英文感謝92歲的張忠謀在過去39年裡為台積電的發展所付出的努力，將台灣科技產業推向國際。

She also said that in making TSMC one of the best semiconductor companies in the world, Chang has not only helped Taiwan grow its own local supply chain but also shown the world that Taiwan can be a trusted partner.
她也表示，張忠謀使台積電成為全球最優秀的半導體公司，不僅幫助台灣發展自己的供應鏈，還向世界展示了台灣是值得信賴的合作夥伴。

Furthermore, Tsai praised Chang for other work he has done for the nation, such as attending the yearly Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation conference six times on behalf of Taiwan.

After receiving the medal, Chang thanked Tsai and said he would like to “share the honor with everyone at TSMC.”

Additionally, he noted that his achievements would not have been possible without the support of Taiwan`s government.

In speaking about the future, Chang also said that the government and other businesses in Taiwan will have to work together to find solutions to the growing “challenges of land, electricity, water and talent” facing the country.
