Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (TSMC) has announced construction of a $12 billion plant in Phoenix, Arizona.

This move by TSMC comes after Biden signed the “CHIPS and Science” law in August, which gives $52.7 billion for subsidizing US semiconductor manufacturing and research, along with $24 billion in tax credits for chip plants, to help prevent shortages in the supply chain from happening again.
