Joe is taking his parents to Osaka next week. He is asking Ruby for some advice since she just got back from Korea with her parents.
advice(n.)建議since(conj.)因為get back from從哪回來
Joe: How was your trip to Korea with your parents?
Ruby: It was really emotional. We even yelled at each other on the streets.
emotional(adj.)情緒化的、情緒激動的、emotion(n.)情緒yell(v.)
Joe: Really? What happened?
Ruby: No, I’m just kidding, but there was some yelling during the trip.
kid(v.)
Joe: Can you give me some pointers? I’m taking my parents to Osaka next week. They’ve never traveled abroad.
pointer(n.)建議
Ruby: Sure. First of all, they will always complain or say something mean. Expect that it will happen and don’t take it personally.
first of all首先complain(v.)抱怨、complaint(n.)投訴mean(adj.)惡毒的expect(v.)期待don′t take it personally別往心裡去
Joe: Why?
Ruby: They just get nervous and tired. Also, don’t cram too many sightseeing spots into your schedule. They won’t be able to take it.
cram…into硬塞進去schedule(n.)
Joe: Thanks, Ruby. Your advice is very helpful.
helpful(adj.)
Ruby: No worries. Have a nice trip!
