The Economist has released their latest study on the world’s safest cities, with Tokyo once again topping the list.
《經濟學人》雜誌公佈最新全球最安全城市調查,東京再度蟬聯排行榜之首 。
The Safety Cities Index 2017, produced by the Economist Intelligence Unit, assessed and ranked 60 cities worldwide based on four criteria— digital security, health, infrastructure and personal safety.

The Japanese capital took the top spot for the third consecutive year with an overall score of 89.8, leading the world in digital security, coming in second for health security, fourth for personal security and 12th for infrastructure security.

The report found that overall, the world is becoming more dangerous.

“With two exceptions (Madrid, which is up 13 points and Seoul, up six), cities tend to have fallen in the index since 2015,” the report said.

Citing recent terror attacks in London, Paris and Barcelona, the report cautioned that wealthy urban centers are increasingly becoming targets of terrorists.
