Shares in the electric carmaker closed at $1,024.86 after it struck a deal to sell 100,000 vehicles to the car rental company Hertz. The order for 100,000 cars is the single biggest order for the carmaker, which delivered a total of 241,300 vehicles in the third quarter, a record for the company.
