According to a recent projection by the International Monetary Fund, Taiwan’s per capita GDP is expected to increase to US$35,510 in 2022. This would put Taiwan above South Korea’s per capita GDP for the first time since 2003 and ahead of Japan’s for the first time ever, giving Taiwan the top per capita GDP in East Asia.
