Taiwan’s Ministry of Labor has released its first report on job vacancies, showing that the labor market remains tight.

According to the data, there are about 276,000 job openings across the country. The manufacturing sector has the highest number with 92,000 vacancies, followed by wholesale and retail with 47,000, and accommodation and food services with 25,000.
根據統計，全台共有約27.6萬個職缺，其中製造業最多，有9.2萬個，其次是批發零售業4.7萬個，以及住宿與餐飲業2.5萬個。

On average, it takes around three and a half months to fill a position, which shows that many industries are still looking for workers.

The report also shows big differences between industries.

In accommodation, turnover is high and jobs take longer to fill. This means employers struggle to keep workers, leading to a higher vacancy rate.

The food service industry also faces similar difficulties. Although many new workers join, many also leave quickly, creating high movement in and out.

In contrast, wholesale and retail show a low vacancy rate and shorter hiring times, so employers can replace workers more easily.
