According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan’s export orders in December 2022 dropped 23.2% from a year earlier—to US$52.17 billion.
根據經濟部(MOEA),台灣2022年12月的外銷訂單同比減少了23.2%,總額跌至521.7億美元。
The MOEA said that overall sluggish consumer demand was to blame for this steep fall from 2021’s December export order totals.
經濟部指出,相較於2021年12月的外銷訂單總額,整體消費者需求疲弱是導致外銷訂單銳減的原因。

During December 2022, many of Taiwan’s major industries experienced huge year-on-year declines in orders.
在2022年12月期間,台灣多個主要產業皆出現訂單同比銳減的情形。

Among traditional industries, orders for chemicals dropped 29.4%, while rubber and plastics orders fell by 34.1% and metals by 33.9%.
在傳統產業方面,化學品訂單減少29.4%,而塑橡膠製品下跌了34.1%,基本金屬則是減少33.9%。
Tech orders also decreased in December, with information and communications products falling by 24.1%, electronic devices by 20.9% and the biggest loser—optical and photographic devices—falling by 40.9% from December 2021’s total.
12月科技類貨品訂單也下跌了,資訊通信產品減少24.1%,電子產品年減20.9%,而光學器材訂單減幅最大,跟2021年12月的訂單總額相比減少了40.9%。
Despite these declines, December’s total export orders did better than the 25.4% drop that economists expected.
儘管出現減幅,12月的外銷訂單總額表現仍是優於經濟學家預計的25.4%跌幅。
However, following a nearly equal 23.4% year-on-year export order decline in November, Taiwan’s fourth quarter of 2022 experienced an 18.1% fall from the same period in 2021.
不過,11月的外銷訂單年減率近23.4%,跟2021年同期相比,台灣2022年第四季出現了18.1%的減幅。
The MOEA predicts that this trend of the year-on-year decline of export orders will continue in January, with a drop of 35.5% expected.
經濟部預測,外銷訂單下滑的趨勢將持續至一月,預計跌幅達35.5%。
