Joan and Miles are friends. They are talking about Taiwanese singer Jody Chiang’s return to performing.
瓊安和邁爾斯是朋友。他們正在聊台灣歌手江蕙復出的事。
Joan: Did you hear that Jody Chiang is performing again on Oct. 5 at the National Day concert?
瓊安:你有聽說江蕙要在10月5號國慶演唱會上復出嗎?
Miles: No, I didn’t! She used to be very popular, but her last concert was in 2015, right?
邁爾斯:沒有耶!她以前超紅的吧?她上次的演唱會是2015年,對吧?

Joan: Yeah, you’re right. Some people called her “the Queen of Taiwanese Pop.” But she stopped performing because she found out that she had cancer.
瓊安:對呀,你說的沒錯。有些人還稱她是「台語歌壇天后」。不過她後來不唱了,因為她發現自己得了癌症。

Miles: Wow! I didn’t know that.

Joan: Yeah, she just announced that this month. She said that over the last nine years she received many cancer treatments and was in the hospital a lot.
瓊安:是啊,她這個月才宣布的。她說這九年來她接受了許多癌症治療,住院的時間也不少。

Miles: She must be very brave to go through all of that and still want to sing again.
邁爾斯:她一定很勇敢,經歷這麼多,還願意再唱歌。

Joan: I agree. She said that her doctors were great and helped her stay positive.

Miles: Well, I’m sure that her fans will be very excited for her to perform again. It’s very cool that she’ll sing at the Taipei Dome on Oct. 5.

Joan: Yes. The holiday will be even more special with her singing at the concert!
