Chang Yuan-chih, a well-known Taiwanese mountain climber, died while climbing in the French Alps on June 27.

CNA News reported that the 36-year-old’s death happened around 7 a.m. when he was hiking the Aiguille du Plan mountain with a friend.

According to France Info, Chang fell in a snowy area before he had started using his safety rope.
