Taiwan has been officially declared by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) to be a foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) free zone where vaccination is not practiced. The designation will allow Taiwan to resume fresh pork exports after a 24-year hiatus.
世界動物衛生組織（OIE）最近正式公布，台灣為口蹄疫「不打疫苗的非疫區」。歷經近24年等待，台灣生鮮豬肉總算取得出口資格。

The main export markets for Taiwanese pork are likely to be Japan and countries in Southeast Asia, according to Chen Zheng-chi, Director General of the Bureau of Foreign Trade.
經濟部國際貿易局局長陳正祺指出，台灣豬肉的主要出口市場可能是日本和東南亞國家。
Chen said the bureau is reviewing each country’s regulations governing pork imports and conducting market analysis, in order to facilitate the formulation of marketing strategies.
