Taiwan’s minimum monthly salary will be raised to NT$23,800 starting on January 1st, 2020, the Ministry of Labor announced on Thursday.

The announcement came after a MOL committee decided to increase the country’s minimum monthly salary by three percent from NT$23,100 to NT$23,800.
日前勞動部委員會決議，月薪從現行2萬3100元調至2萬3800元，漲幅3％；
A decision was also made to bump up the minimum hourly wage to NT$158 to reflect a five percent hike from the previous $NT150.
時薪部分則由現行150元調升至158元，漲幅5％。

Around 1.36 million domestic workers are expected to benefit from the salary increase, while the rise in minimum hourly wage will push up the pay for 500,000 workers.
