On July 2nd, the Directorate-General of Personnel Administration (DGPA) announced that Taiwanese workers would get 115 days off in 2019. That includes five long weekends and a whole nine days off for Chinese New Year.
行政院人事行政總處於七月二日宣布,2019年台灣勞工共有115天假;包含了五個連假以及一個總共九天假期的新年。

The 115 days off is the same number as 2018, but there’ll be fewer breaks than in previous years. In 2017 there were a total of 116 holidays, and in 2016 there were 119.
115天的假期與今年相同,但比前幾年少;2017年有總共116天假,而2016年有119天。

As with previous years, officials said that whenever a public holiday is on a Tuesday or Thursday, they will turn it into an extended holiday.
一如以往,官員表示每當國定假日適逢週二或週四時,則會變成連續假期;

People will have to work the Saturday before to make up for the extra day.
人們必須在前一個週六上班,以彌補多出來的一天假。

For example, Thursday February 28 is a public holiday, so Friday March 1 will be a public holiday too. You’ll have to show up to the office on Saturday February 23 though.
舉例來說,2月28日週四為國定假日,故3月1日週五也將為國定假日;但你必須於2月23日週六進公司上班。

For the same reason, the Chinese New Year break will be extended to a full nine days off compared to just six days in 2018.
