Nina and Kelvin are on the train from Taipei to Taichung. They are chatting.
妮娜和凱爾文正搭著火車從台北前往台中，他們聊了起來。
Nina: When we go to Taichung later this year, the tickets could be more expensive.
妮娜：我們今年晚點再去台中的時候，車票可能會變貴哦。
Kelvin: Oh yeah? I guess the Taiwan Railway needs to make more money, right?
凱爾文：喔是嗎？台鐵需要多賺點錢嗎？

Nina: Yep. Its fares haven’t changed at all in 30 years. The government said the railway lost billions of dollars last year.
妮娜：對啊！票價已經30年沒變了。政府說台鐵去年虧損了數十億。

Kelvin: Wow! That’s a lot! So how much will our Taipei to Taichung fare on the Tze-Chiang Express go up?
凱爾文：哇！那真的很多！那我們搭的自強號，台北到台中的票價會漲多少？

Nina: I read that it will increase 33.6%. So instead of paying NT$375, it will cost NT$501. But longer trips, like from Taipei to Kaohsiung, will only go up 18.33%.
妮娜：我看到的消息是會漲33.6%，所以原本375元，之後就變成501元了。不過像台北到高雄這種長途路線，漲幅比較少，大約18.33%。

Kelvin: Both are a lot, but taking the train is still much cheaper and more convenient than driving.
凱爾文：雖然都漲不少，但坐火車還是比開車便宜又方便啊！

Nina: I agree. We’re lucky to have such great train service in Taiwan. So a fare increase once in 30 years doesn’t seem so bad to me.
妮娜：沒錯，我們很幸運台灣有這麼好的鐵路服務，所以30年才漲一次，也還可以接受啦！
