Taiwan is one of the most popular destinations in the world for Muslim tourists, data from the Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) has revealed.
根據「全球穆斯林旅遊指數（GMTI）」，台灣是全球最受伊斯蘭教徒歡迎的觀光勝地。

According to data by Mastercard, around 131 million Muslim travelers jetted away in 2017 and over 158 million will be doing so by 2020, which will make up around 10% of the international travel market.
根據萬事達卡公布的資料，2017年穆斯林旅遊人次高達1.31億，預估2020年可望成長至1.58億人次，占全球整體旅遊市場的10％。

“The true meaning of a friendly city is to be understanding, respectful, and accommodating of groups of all different backgrounds,” said Chen Si-yu, Head of Taipei City Government’s Department of Information and Tourism.

The city has also been encouraging hotels and restaurants to obtain Halal Licenses, and promoting “Muslim-friendly” labeling at the city’s night markets, which already include a number of pork-and-alcohol-free stands, to cater to Muslim customers.
