In November, Taiwan’s Consumer Price Index saw a year-on-year increase of 2.84%, the highest in nearly nine years, data released by the Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics shows.
主計總處公布數據顯示，11月台灣者消費物價指數較去年同期上漲2.84％，為近九年來最高。

The DGBAS said the increase was primarily driven by soaring food and fuel prices. Last month, fuel costs climbed by 35.8%, while fruit and vegetable prices went up by 24.74% and 12.91% respectively.

A DGBAS official said that since international crude oil prices have dropped and the government has lowered the excise tax on gasoline and diesel, the CPI will not go up any further in December.
