Taiwan is already an “aged society,” with the number of citizens over the age of 65 comprising at least 14% of the total population.

According to the United Nations, “super-aged” societies are those in which more than 20% of the population is elderly.

Although this is still a few years away for the country as a whole, there are already four places in Taiwan that have become “super-aged.”
