U.S. think tank Global Taiwan Institute announced in a recent seminar that data from satellite constellation Formosat-7 is now available to the public, and that the next phase of collaboration would be aimed at moon landing missions and the training of Taiwanese astronauts.
美國智庫「全球台灣研究中心」舉辦了一場研討會，宣布公開福衛7號的數據資料，且下階段的合作將會著重在登月計劃和培訓台灣籍太空人。

The Formosat -7 satellite system, the first space cooperation between Taiwan and the U.S., was launched in June 2019.

In this collaborative program, the designated representative for Taiwan is the National Space Organization (NSPO), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is its U.S. counterpart.

NSPO engineer Lin Xin-jia pointed out that there are a lot of possibilities for further collaboration, such as moon landing missions, the training of Taiwanese astronauts and the enhancement of space education.

Echoing NSPO’s wish, Anish Goel, vice CEO of the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, who was also at the seminar, said that space is one of the key areas of development for the Trump administration, especially the projects targeting moon and Mars landings.
