The Taipei government began tearing down the Xinsheng-Heping Pedestrian Bridge on Nov. 19 despite protests.

The 42-year-old overpass was located near Daan Forest Park. Over the years, it had served as a location where several well-known Taiwanese movies and dramas were filmed. The most famous was Ang Lee’s “Eat Drink Man Woman.”
