The Taipei Department of Cultural Affairs expressed deep regret after a cross-strait music concert on Sunday descended into chaos in which pro-independence activists clashed with pro-China groups, with three people injured in the scuffles.

The concert abruptly ended about two hours after it started, when a group of NTU students occupied the stage to protest against the school’s decision to rent out the venue to the event organizer, who had closed the venue for a week, damaged the sports field and was in violation of students’ rights to access the university venue.
