2,000披索約會津貼
The local government unit of Jose Abad Santos in Davao Occidental, Philippines, offered an allowance for its employees to encourage them to go on a date on Valentine’s Day.

The mayor Jason John Joyce announced the offer on February 8 through a post on Facebook, which says, “Do you already have a date on Feb. 14?”

Joyce said he would personally dole out a date allowance of ₱2,000 for each date.

What’s more, he said the single employees would be entitled to take leave that day as long as they have proof of their date.

Those who wish to get the allowance and take a day off on Valentine’s Day would have to submit screenshots of messages on social media or text messages as well as a picture of their actual date upon the next day they return to work.

“It’s a small thing to share for the happiness of those who are still single,” Joyce said, adding that the offer does not apply to those who are currently in a relationship or who are married.
