Emma: Giles, have you heard about what’s going on with Tongji High School in Chiayi County?
艾瑪：賈爾斯，你聽說過嘉義縣的同濟高中發生了什麼事嗎？
Giles: No, I haven’t. What’s happening there?
賈爾斯：沒有，我不知道。那裡發生了什麼事？
Emma: Well, Tongji High School is facing challenges because there aren’t many kids in the area anymore. They used to have lots of students, but now there are only 55 left.

Giles: That’s a big change. How are they doing money-wise?

Emma: The principal and three teachers have been working without pay for over two years to help out. But they still need NT$2 million to cover expenses like rent and teacher salaries.

Emma: The principal asked for help publicly, and lots of former students gave their money. The school and students are really grateful and hope to get enough money soon.
