A group of scientists have developed a new way to trigger cancer cell death that might give patients an alternative treatment option with better results than chemotherapy.

According to the researchers, if the same effects can be reproduced in humans, then we may now have a treatment that can kill off cancers in a way that is less harmful to the body, and with a lower chance of the cancer coming back.
