
高雄鐵路地下化
Rita and Ryan are talking about the railways in Kaohsiung.

Rita: The Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) is taking a big step forward.
瑞塔:台灣鐵路局(台鐵)向前跨了一大步呢!

Ryan: Right. After being in service for 16 years, the Kaohsiung station is no longer on the ground. The TRA has moved it underground and completed the project at last.

Rita: 7 railway crossings and 16 junctions have been removed, which will help increase the value of lands and change the look of the city.

Ryan: October 13th was the last day for trains running on the ground. Loads of railway fans gathered at the Kaohsiung station to record this last moment.

Rita: They took photos, recorded videos and some even sang Taiwanese songs.

Ryan: Some people say that it was the route they took to commute to work. Others say it used to be a hot spot for them to bring dates to in the past.

Rita: Saying goodbye is always hard. Even though we missed the last day, at least now we can experience the station in its new form – underground.
