After Taiwan’s 11th Legislature officially took office on February 1, 2024, TVBS News published an article revealing the salaries of the new speaker and deputy speaker of the Legislative Yuan.

As the new speaker, Kuomintang legislator Han Kuo-yu will earn a monthly salary of NT$346,960, which has been set by Taiwan’s Act Governing the Discipline of Legislators.
作為新任院長，國民黨立法委員韓國瑜的月薪將達到新台幣346,960元，該金額是台灣《立法委員行為法》所規定的。

Along with this high pay comes big responsibilities, as Han’s position of speaker will require him to not only manage the activities of the Legislative Yuan but also make sure that problems within the legislature are solved.

For their extra responsibilities, both Han and Chiang will earn more than the average salary of a legislator, which is around NT$190,500 per month, according to TVBS News.
