The 35-year-old comes from a political family — she is the daughter of the former mayor of St. Petersburg, Anatoly Sobchak, widely known as Putin’s mentor.

Despite the negative comments, the media think the “Barbie doll” can draw attention from the Russian public and create an illusion of tension for the predictable election. Perhaps this will also stimulate people’s will to vote.
儘管有許多負評，媒體認為索布恰克的參選可以引起俄羅斯民眾的注意，並為這場輸贏並不難預測的大選，製造好像選戰打得很火熱的假象，或許這能提高投票率也不一定。

Although the current President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, hasn’t declared candidacy, he is expected to join the election in March, 2018.
