Now, a new route to the North Pole has been launched — travelers can enjoy the spectacular scenery from Russia to the Arctic region on a train.

Lernidee Erlebnisreisen, a German tour operator, has launched its first tourist train service traveling through Russia’s Arctic region to Norway.

The train, named Zarengold, complete with two restaurant cars, travels from Saint Petersburg to Murmansk, the largest city north of the Arctic Circle.

This is the first time a travel agency has provided a tour from Russia to the Arctic. The first train, carrying on it 91 passengers from seven different countries, left for an 11-day test journey.
