Protestors targeted the Chinese rock band Young Drug after its performance at Legacy Taipei on Tuesday, April 2.
As the band left the venue, people who gathered outside waved pro-Taiwan and pro-Hong Kong banners while chanting slogans in favor of Taiwanese independence.

This outrage was the result of a social media post made by Young Drug a day before its concert in Taipei, which read: “From Guangxi to Taiwan, China. See you tomorrow at ‘Open Your Head’ Taipei.”

In addition to being targeted by this protest, Young Drug also faced another consequence for its social media post: the band’s performance on April 5 at the Taiwan Music Festival in Pingtung was canceled.
