Yu Zong Foods’ “Hsia Wei Hsien” spicy shrimp chips have been recalled across Taiwan after they were found to contain the banned food additive Sudan III.

The discovery of Sudan III in the shrimp chips came following an investigation into Yunlin-based food maker Chiseng Hong Ltd., which found contamination at a level of 18 parts per billion of the substance in chili powder sold by the company.
