Pope Francis has made another progressive stride for the Catholic Church, after he told a gay man and clerical abuse survivor, “God made you this way and he loves you.”

The pontiff invited Juan Carlos Cruz to a week-long stay at his Santa Marta residence, where during a three-hour meeting he apologized sincerely for the sexual abuse that Chilean priest Fernando Karadima had inflicted upon Cruz and told him that God and the Pope wanted him “to be happy with who you are.”
