Police in Tainan launched a search for the gunman who shot and killed Lin Shi-jie — the chairman of the Tainan City Fisherman’s Association and father of Democratic People’s Party City Councilor Lin Yi-ting — on Monday, July 8.

According to various news sources, Lin was attacked outside of his home in Tainan’s South District at 5:44 a.m.
