The poll, which was published earlier this week, predicts that only 46 percent of left-wing voters will vote for Ko, while challenger Pasuya Yao (DPP) could take 44 percent of votes from the same group.

Yao, a two-time mayoral candidate and vocal critic of the mayor, described the findings as “breaking news”, but added that fake news has influenced polling ahead of the election. “When you look at the polls, you can’t just take them at face value,” he told ETT Today earlier this week.
