The study focuses on the use of a special implant, designed by Onward Medical, which delivers electrical pulses to the patient’s spinal cord, thus enabling them to walk as if they were not suffering from the disease.

According to the company’s CEO, Dave Marver, although the device uses a similar treatment method to “implantable defibrillators and devices used for pain management,” the Parkinson’s implant targets “the spinal cord in a specific and flexible way.”
