In an interview with TED annual conference in April, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings revealed that he is often the last to know about the key decisions that have been made in the company. “Sometimes I can go a whole quarter without making any decisions.”

Firstly, there’s growth, and Netflix has been doing a lot of it. Since January, Netflix stock has shot up by 70% and last month, it topped Disney as the most valuable media company in the US.

Netflix shares information across all employees. The logic here is that when people are better informed and feel that they are trusted, they are more likely to take responsibility for decisions and outcomes.
