Taiwan’s Ministry of Education announced on May 20 that the monthly child subsidy for children aged two to five will be increased to NT$5,000 in August.
台灣教育部於5月20日宣布2至5歲兒童的每月育兒津貼從八月起將增加至5,000元。

The increase, said the ministry, is a part of the Executive Yuan’s plan to increase Taiwan’s dwindling population.

Parents who are eligible for the subsidy will receive a monthly payment of NT$5,000, NT$6,000, and NT$7,000 for their first, second, and each additional child, respectively.

To qualify for the subsidy, parents must provide proof that they have a combined income that is taxed at less than 20%, and plan to raise a child without government aid such as public childcare centers.
為符合領取資格，家長必須提供綜合所得稅稅率未達20％的證明，且計畫在未接受公共教保服務的情況下養育小孩。

In addition, children aged two to six years old will also receive increased educational subsidies.
