If your prescription glasses are not up to scratch, you will no doubt experience the following problems: not being able to drive a car, not being able to perform complex tasks, endless inconveniences and it may even restrict your career.
如果沒有一副好的眼鏡配戴，你無疑會遇到下列的問題：可能無法開車、無法從事精密工作，生活中會遇到諸多不便，職涯也會受限。

Microsoft Taiwan is collaborating with the Taipei School for the Visually Impaired to hold an event named, “Opening a New Window, Let’s Go Far Away”.

The Taipei School for the Visually Impaired has classes for Massage Therapy and Performing Arts, preparing students for a job in the massage industry or as a street performer once the students have graduated.
啟明學校有復健按摩科與表演藝術科，畢業後流向多為從事按摩業或考取街頭藝人執照。
These two current career paths seem limited and these visually impaired students deserve more career options.
這兩條職業道路發展有限，視障生應該擁有更多生涯選擇。

Microsoft addressed this while designing the Windows 10 software, and have upgraded and improved four features in the Narrator program.
微軟Windows 10在軟體設計時考量到這點，對於「朗讀程式」進行四項功能的升級與優化。

The Narrator is a screen reading assistant, which reads out the words and describes the visual items that show up on screen.
朗讀程式是一種螢幕助讀程式，可以大聲讀出螢幕上的文字及圖示。
These features allow a user to access the software without having to use glasses or other reading devices, particularly useful for the visually impaired.
讓使用者不需要眼鏡或其他閱讀裝置就可以使用軟體，讓視障者得以受惠 。

The four features include: reading speed, scan mode, magnifier and intelligent image description.
四項功能包括：朗讀速度、掃描模式、放大鏡，及智慧圖像描述。

The visually impaired user can change the speed of the reading to “hear” what they should see.

Every person has the risk of facing a disability in life, and gradually more people are realizing that the environment is causing the inconvenience more so than the actual disability itself.
每個人在生命裡都有經歷障礙的風險，越來越多人體認到，是環境形成阻礙，而非殘障本身。
Microsoft’s new design shows care for society and tells us that there can be equality for people with disabilities in the digital age.
微軟的新設計體現了社會關懷，也告訴我們：在數位時代，殘障者也有平等的可能。
