Sam: It is. People are getting ready to vote, or decide, who the next mayor should be.

Tracy: Right now there are three top politicians for people to choose from; Ting Shou-chung, from the KMT; Pasuya Yao, from the DPP; and Ko Wen-je.

Sam: Ko Wen-je is an independent politician — which means he’s not a member of any political party — and he is very popular with young people.

Tracy: But that could be a problem for him. This week Ko Wen-je said that he is worried that young people won’t take part in the election.

Sam: Right, even though lots of young people say they like him, many of them don’t show up when it’s time to vote.

Tracy: Yes, and that needs to change. If we don’t vote, then politicians won’t think about the issues that are important to us.
崔西：是的，這個情況需要有所改變。如果我們不投票，政治人物就不會想一些對年輕人重要的事件。

Sam: I agree. Young people have to take part in politics, so they can make sure that Taipei chooses the right person to be our next mayor.
