Marcia: Yeah, you’re right. There’s even a law in the US called the PAWS Act that helps former soldiers get dogs to help them handle stress from being in wars.

Marcia: A famous service dog named Kaya played a role in getting that law passed in 2021. Kaya and her owner Cole, a soldier, took over 300 flights together to help pass the law. Now, service dogs are helping loads of ex-soldiers.

Marcia: No. Sadly, she died earlier this year from cancer. But before that, she took one last flight with Cole, and the whole plane cheered for her.
